Rafal Dunin-Borkowski is a Royal Society University Research Fellow, appointed in October 2000 to work on Off-Axis Electron Holography Of Magnetic And Electric Fields In Nanostructured Materials.
His Ph.D. (1990-1994) was sponsored by GEC-Marconi Ltd, carried out in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy in Cambridge, and involved the characterisation of ultrathin doping layers in semiconductors.
He was then employed as a Research Fellow in the same Department (1994-1997) to work on energy selected imaging.
Between 1997 and 1999 he worked at Arizona State University and was sponsored by the IBM Almaden Research Center.
This project involved the characterisation of magnetic thin films and nanostructured magnetic elements.
Most recently, he was a Senior Research Officer at the University of Oxford (1999-2000), where he was responsible for a JEOL 3000F field emission gun TEM.
