My research is aimed at utilising the wealth of information contained in electron diffraction patterns. This includes the development and application of structure determination and refinement from conventional and precession electron diffraction data as well as exploring new approaches to study inelastic and incoherent scattering, particularly arising from the breakdown in long range periodicity. For this work I have developed software for simulation of electron scattering to be employed on grid-computation systems and GPUs (for highly parallel calculations at low cost!).
